“I WOULD LIKE TO PRESENT THE COUNTLESS CONFLICTING AND CROWDED PERSONALITIES THAT EXIST INSIDE ALL OF US, AND WHICH WE FOLLOW. IT IS OUR MEMORIES OF THE PAST THAT CREATE THIS ILLUSTRIOUS MIXTURE OF SENTIMENT AND CHARACTER, AND I BELIEVE IT IS HERE THAT GOOD AND EVIL CO-EXIST…WE ARE VERY FAMILIAR WITH ANGELS AND DEMONS BETWEEN US. WHETHER TO CONFRONT OUR DEMONS OR NOT, IS THE INDIVIDUAL’S CHOICE. I HAVE CHOSEN TO DO SO.”
— Ji-Eun Lee —
A dance performance pondering the existence of controversial personalities in our souls. Meditation and madness alternate in manifesting their fights, conflicts and ability to co-exist. The past suddenly appears in form of unexpected memories. The movements of South Korean choreographer and her perception of the world, together with the intense involvement of the dancers, make Angels and Demons an exceptional dance event which enriches the spectrum of contemporary Czech dance.
